Hobbies - some things that touch your heart!

Hobbies - I strongly feel are one of those few things that bring the best of yourself to you. That which you thought you never knew you could do.. True, isn't it?

I was pondering over the idea of wanting to do something creative and unique which not many have tapped their hands into. Here are a few trials!!

Adding some colour to my Recycled bags this time!

These bags were specifically custom made with different colours since they were to be used by a friend of mine to give away return gifts in them for her daughter's birthday. Loved making these and guess who promoted my work at the birthday party! The birthday girl herself!.. Went around saying her friend's moms that look Arjun's mom has made these bags!!! I was so thrilled , my day was made!

 A closer view!

Come on! say no to plastics in your own way!. Am still in the midst of my trip, in Ooty - The beautiful Hill town, that claims and IS a completely Plastic free town!! . I cannot explain the amount of pleasure I am feeling at this moment to emphasise the recycling projects I am into in my own small  but steady way!!

Happy Re-cycling!

It is astonishing when we give a thought to the amount of extavagance that goes into weddings and more so the nitty gritty details of having to arrange one!..

My Blessing covers/ Gift Envelop covers happened while having a casual conversation with a dear friend. Both of us brainstormed about we home makers are wasting our talent and curtailing our horizons to home life for no reason.

Ever since I began making these out of Wedding Invite cards that have served their occassions and unfortunately make their journey into the dust bins or the paperwalas who in turn sell them off to other kabaadiwalas who take them for a pittence! Uh! I am glad I give them a second life! You will see how when you see these pictures..

These beautiful covers can be used for 3 different purposes:
  • As Gift Money covers to your friends and relatives during Festivals, Weddings, Birthdays n Thread Ceremonies
  • As Gift Cheque covers for similar purposes
  • As Special Invitation Covers for Small Budget Weddings, Small Scale Homely Functions, Baby Showers wherein, you would not want to go beyond a limit. All you need to do is to insert a computer print out copy (Black and White / or Colour print outs , as you may prefer), into these covers!

The one below has been my most favourite!

The one below can be used for Thread Ceremony as a Blessing Cover, interestingly this one was the first cover I tried and the pleasure I felt to see the outcome is un explainable!

The one below is the Main Card, inside which originally there was a printed colour sheet which contained the details of the wedding, I have seperated that sheet from the main card and here's the result!
Making these have become addictive now and I never know how time drifted by. Yes, Also a big thanks to my 7 year old son who baby sits my 1 and half yr old brat while am at these things!! He's my first critic and love his surprised look when I used to finish making the first few ones I began with :-)

Much more to follow , keep coming back! As always, your comments are most welcome.
